At Jack Black, we take Earth Day seriously. With recyclable bottles and multi-functional products, we’re minimizing our carbon footprint one Beard Lube bottle at a time. Learn how to recycle, reduce, and reuse with these helpful hints below:

Recycle:
Jack Black Bottles are easily recyclable through most curbside recycling programs. Make sure you have emptied the contents, removed the cap or pump, then sort with the rest of your plastic materials and take to your local recycle center or leave for curbside pickup.

Our bottles are made of two types of material: PET and HDPE (look on the bottom of the bottle to find out).

PET
+ All PET bottles are 100% recyclable
+ Accepted by virtually all recycling programs in the U.S.
+ PET can be recycled into polar fleeces, fiber, tote bags, straps, and occasionally new containers.
+ Every pound of recycled PET used in place of virgin material reduces energy use in plastic production by 84% and greenhouse gas emissions by 71% (KAB.ORG)

HDPE
+ All HDPE bottles are 100% recyclable
+ Accepted by 95% of all recycling programs in the U.S.
+ HDPE bottles can be recycled into laundry detergent bottles, oil bottles, pens, recycling containers, floor tiles, drainage pipes, benches, doghouses, picnic tables, and fencing.

Along with our bottles being made of recyclable materials, many of our collections and gift sets come in cartons that are marked with the Forest Stewardship Council certified label. Reuse:

Accomplish more with less. Reduce your carbon footprint by using our multi-functional products.
+ Dry Down: Use in shoes to keep feet dry and smelling fresh throughout the day, also can be used as a dry shampoo
+ Hand Healer: Use this creamy formula on the heels of your feet to help with dryness and calluses
+ Mr. Fix It: This wound rescue gel can also be used to help treat blemishes
+ Wax Pomade: Double up this flexible hold pomade on your beard and facial hair

Jack Black packaging can be repurposed for various other uses around the house and office. With all the different sizes and shapes we offer, there’s sure to be a bottle in your collection that can be repurposed. Here are a few ideas we suggest:

+ Use the Body Rehab or Supreme Cream jar as a container for loose hardware (screws, nuts, bolts, etc.) and it comes with a convenient screw on lid to keep them in place
+ The new 16oz hair care bottles can be refilled with your favorite dish soap for easy dispensing at the sink
+ Our 33oz. bottles can be cut to make storage bins for the kiddos art supplies, toys, and other small items that can clutter up a play area
