The Assistant Manager of Quality Control provides technical support and facilitates supplier resolution for all quality related issues escalated from the Quality Technician to maintain the company’s high level of quality standards for its products.

This position reports to the Director of Product & Packaging Development and Quality Assurance and interacts with several other departments, including purchasing, forecasting and operations.



  • The creation of inspection alerts for received goods and follow up with contract fillers and component suppliers on quality issues.
    Maintains and creates Acceptable Quality Limit standards for all finished goods and components to be used during inspections at Jack Black and by all appropriate contract manufactures
    Works closely with contract manufactures to prevent quality issues from occurring during production. 
    Ensure appropriate documentation of issues for internal files, and supplier follow-up, as well as securing documentation from suppliers about investigations and corrective actions. 
    Manages the Quality Assurance and Packaging Technician by delegating tasks, keeping track of the Packaging and Quality schedule, and being responsible for the organization of all Quality related documentation 
    Works with the Quality Assurance and Packaging Technician with the documentation of the Issues by Month and Supplier Scorecard reports
    Works closely with customer service to evaluate quality issues reported by customers on an ongoing basis. 
    Keeps a log of chargeback request and works with accounting until the account is settled.
    Manage and train warehouse receiving quality technician. 
    Works collaboratively to ensure inspections are completed thoroughly and with a sense of urgency.
    Actively seeks out and evaluate opportunities to improve current quality systems and procedures. 
    Be an integral team member and actively support the Quality, Packaging and Purchasing departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or related field. 
    1-3 years of work progressive experience performing quality management duties
    Additional education, training and/or work experience in area of specialization integral to the position may be required. 
    Knowledge of principles and procedures used in logistics operations and practices. 
    Candidates must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products especially Excel.
    Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows.
    Experience with standard AQL sampling and inspection procedures would be a plus.
    Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
    Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
    Ability to multitask, manage time, and work independently with minimal supervision.
    Strong team player with the drive to help assure quality products.
    Some travel to local suppliers, so reliable transportation is required.
