TITLE: Account Manager
DIVISION: Sales

 

Key Responsibilities

Manage assigned national and independent retailer accounts, ecommerce accounts and all military business.

Provide full service support for assigned retail partner accounts and sales representatives. This includes but is not limited to customer service, order allocations, planning and execution of sell-in and sell-through programs, gathering and analyzing sales and trend information, and providing training materials, point of sale materials and sales aid to drive retail sell through.

Generate new independent accounts that meet the Company’s criteria for retail partners, help identify and qualify leads and assist in opening new accounts. Review and approve incoming applications for new retailers based on fit with company strategy and objectives.

Work with the Marketing department to direct and develop sales materials for targeting prospective new retailers. For existing accounts, work with Marketing to develop consumer promotions, wholesale order incentives, point of sale materials, fixtures and signage to help drive sell through.

Coordinate execution of twice yearly specialty/independent store new product mailers. Maintain and update list of 700+ retailers that receive the mailer.

Serve as the primary liaison with the assigned accounts. Spend a portion of every day making telephone calls, make in person visits monthly and conduct sales and product knowledge trainings both over the phone and in person.

Update and manage all written materials that are sent to prospective new accounts, including order forms and price lists.

Proactively generate new ideas and programs to improve sell through and productivity of retailer accounts, such as development of a retailer loyalty program, quarterly newsletters, recognition program, innovative sampling ideas, etc.

Update all assigned retailer accounts and sales reps on new products, out of stock items, product and pricing changes.

Keep updated on industry and product trends, competitors, market changes and new retailers entering the market.

Participate in trade shows, gift shows and conventions. Travel for business meetings and/or trainings with sales reps and retailers.

Qualifications

3-5 years of experience in sales or account management role. Experience in account management in the personal care or beauty industry preferred.

Bachelor’s degree.

Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with retailer accounts, outside sales reps and internal teams.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including proven ability to communicate information and ideas to others in an understandable, straightforward manner and the ability to comprehend and express new information.

Team player who is comfortable collaborating with others and keeping relevant parties informed of activates and developments.

Strong people skills, enjoys and is skilled at working with a variety of people and work styles.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and contact management software (ACT).
