Job Description – Project Manager


Position Overview

The Project Manager is responsible for helping teams plan and execute projects to achieve business goals. Incumbent will be responsible for creating project plans, budgets, timelines and deliverables, managing and tracking the team’s progress against that plan, communicating with all constituencies, and removing any barriers that might prevent the project from being successful. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating internal resources and third parties/vendors for successful execution of projects.

This position reports to the Creative Director and will regularly partner with numerous other departments including Marketing, Digital, Creative, Sales, International, Product & Package Development, Forecasting/Planning, Purchasing and Senior Management.  



Plan and organize projects.

  • Define the scope of the project and create a detailed work plan, in collaboration with the team or owner of the project. Ensure Briefs are complete and accurate before routing to corresponding partners.
  • Host new job kick off meetings to gather all relevant project information.
  • Develop a schedule for project completion, including contingency plans as needed.
  • Develop forms, shared sites (Google docs or Smart Sheet) and records to document project activities
  • Build budget spreadsheet and tracking process.
  • Set up files to ensure that all project information is appropriately documented, secured and shared.
  • Establish a communication schedule to update team members.
  • Develop process for data collection and analysis against metrics
  • Develop post-completion recap and lead any follow-up process that may be required.
  • Analyze market data and prepare reports, as applicable.
  • Power Point presentation preparation.

    Project Execution

  • Manage Traffic Schedules, Master Marketing Calendars, New Product and Package Development critical path.
  • Monitor the progress of the project and adjust as necessary to ensure the successful completion of the project
  • Manage meeting schedules, minutes and action follow-ups and monitor for on-time completion.
  • Review the quality of the work completed with the project team on a regular basis to ensure that it meets the project standards
  • Monitor and track all budgeted project expenditures and ensure that all financial records for the project are up to date
  • Ensure that the project deliverables are on time, within budget and at the required level of quality
  • Develop reporting process; write reports and executives updates on the project for management, including success metrics.


    Minimum Requirement:

    At least 3 years project management experience, marketing related preferred

    Other Requirements:

  • Detail-oriented, project management skills with the ability to gather, classify, categorize and readily retrieve information
  • Experience setting priorities/objectives, gaining leadership buy-in, and juggling multiple projects to successful completion in the time allotted
  • Ability to manage complex projects with multiple work streams with aggressive (and sometimes competing) timelines
  • Example of previous project plan will be required as part of the interview process
  • Ability to build and foster strong relationships within and outside of the organization, from individual contributors to senior leadership
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint), Google Docs, and/or Smart Sheets.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a high-energy, fast-paced environment and with diverse communication styles
  • Takes initiative, ability to act independently with sound business judgment and emotional maturity
  • Good decision making skills, can assess situations to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and negotiation skills, including demonstrated ability to summarize and provide well-written executive updates, lead and manage meetings internally and with vendor partners.

     Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Additional marketing communications, events and/or writing experience preferred but not required.
  • Fosters teamwork, works cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problem, and make decisions that enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Enjoys building strong inter-department/vendor relationships and influence without authority across all levels and functions
  • Flexibility to take on different roles and duties as required
  • Passion and enthusiasm for delivering outstanding work
  • Project manager certification is a plus
