Superior Skin Care and Shaving Products For Men

May I have some Glycolic Acid, please?

What? Glycolic Acid is something you want?

If you're interested in clearing your skin, evening out skin tone, and age-defying properties, the answer is YES. And the good news is, Glycolic Acid is an active ingredient in several Jack Black® products.

But we digress…

What exactly is Glycolic Acid?

Typically derived from sugar cane, Glycolic Acid belongs to the alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) family-along with salicylic and lactic acids.

Glycolic Acid is a small molecule, which means when you put it on the skin, it penetrates pretty quickly, allowing other products to be absorbed more easily. Its main function is to exfoliate the skin-think of it as ungluing dead cells from each other.

What does Glycolic Acid do for me?

It's really great for acne-prone skin. Acne starts from dead cells getting plugged up within our pores. Glycolic Acid helps loosen those dead cells from each other, helping to reduce acne.

It has age-defying benefits. Since Glycolic Acid is helping rid the skin of dead skin cells, skin is more vibrant, with more luminosity. It can also help make skin smoother and help get rid of a good amount of excess pigment from old acne scars, age spots, and sun damage.

It works on most skin types. With the exception of sensitive skin and skin with rosacea, most skin types react well to Glycolic Acid. If you think you may have sensitive skin, we recommend you try our products on a small area to test. Obviously, if there is ever any irritation, simply stop using the product. If you are going to be exposed to the sun after using a product with Glycolic Acid, make sure you apply sunscreen first!

How often should I use a product with Glycolic Acid?

Try incorporating it into your routine a few times a week, and if you're seeing desired results, stay with that schedule. If you want to have increased benefits, you can probably start to use it daily.
