Antibacterial vs. Antimicrobial
Antibacterial ointments destroy bacteria and germs by interrupting their growth or stopping their ability to reproduce. The downside is that antibacterials are not always effective against bacterial mutations, because these mutations can become drug resistant. Silver, however, is antimicrobial, NOT an antibacterial.
